Stirling Tea Dance – June ‘06
Stirling workshop and tea dance today… Though for me, it was just a tea dance…
Didn’t make the workshop, or the lunch beforehand – too tired to get up and out before 11 am…
The dance was a good one – as always. And despite the lovely weather outside, we got a very good attendance, with a good turn-out from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, in fact from all over Scotland.
I really enjoy these tea dances. The music is just lovely. The standard of dancing is always good (even if there are sometimes a few people with less experience, at least they’re keen to improve.) The number of people is just about right for the size of room, the numbers are almost always well-balanced and you get to have a two or three dances with most folks.
I had so many lovely dances – though I suffered a bit from tiredness towards the end. It’s a shame that these dances are scheduled the day after the Edinburgh party, but no matter what weekend of the month it is on, as I think there is now at least one event somewhere in Scotland each Saturday night, there’s always going to be some people who’ve been out dancing the night before.
I’ve taken a load of photos that I need to get off my camera, but I hope to post them on my photo site soon. Lots of “arty” – i.e. blurry – shots.
Thanks to Sheena and Franck for a good afternoon’s dancing. Thanks to all my fab partners. And thanks to the good fellow who gave me a lift home.
Cheers!
