Taking it Easy at RR’s

JJ’s…

I turned up late tonight – towards the end of the intermediate class – as I’m still feeling a bit sore from the weekend and didn’t want to make things worse.

Seems that some of the Glasgow Feeling Good folks were using the class time to practice the routine. I didn’t have a partner, but I managed to help them a bit when they were unsure of the sequence, or I could give a style tip or two that we’d been given in the original workshops.

Later during the freestyle, some of the folks were still practicing, and I managed to get a go at doing the routine with a borrowed partner. It went mostly OK – the biggest problem is that without the music to give you cues, it can sometimes be hard to remember what comes next or get the timing right. We also messed up the first move lunge thing. I think that’s a move that I have to practice a few times with each partner to get right before being able to perform it mid-routine.

It was useful though.

As for the actual freestyle, I think I only danced maybe 7 times. Part of this was from feeling a bit sore, but a larger part was an unexpected lack of enthusiasm. A bit how I felt on Saturday night in Edinburgh, though I can’t say I had any problem with the music tonight. At least, not anything I noticed.

Hopefully this is just a result of the cold that I’m just getting over and I’ll be back to my usual self soon.

Dunno.

Anyway, had some good dances with some of my dirty half-dozen, and had some time to chat with some folks, so definitely worth being there.

Cheers guys!
