I just couldn’t help myself!
Despite feeling tired, run down, and having spent most of the evening with my parents, I just couldn’t help myself going up the road to the GUU for the freestyle after the class tonight.
I haven’t been to the GUU in ages – excluding the BFG, I’ve only been once in the last 6 weeks. But I felt drawn towards it, and I knew all the girls there must have been missing me.
Plus, my horoscope in the Metro today said this:
Capricorn Dec 22-Jan 20
AS WELL AS being hard working you ought to play with as much fervour - or you will be boring. Sorry to be blunt, but some people need to see you out and about. Your social life is formally attached to your professional one.
And I always do what my horoscope says – especially when it involves fun!
So I made it along for the last hour and a bit, but it was worth it! Got to see and dance with lots of people I hadn’t seen in ages (a few of which hadn’t been in a while either – maybe they read the same horoscope.) It was good to be back.
My dancing was, after a couple of rusty dances, not too bad. Managed to invent a new (to me) move in the middle of messing up another one, and it seemed to work fairly well when I tried repeating it. Had one or two lovely compliments given to me, and generally had a good time.
But then it was over – too soon – and I didn’t get to dance with everyone I wanted to, or have a second dance with some of my favourites.
Found myself lacking my usual stamina – I was pretty beat after just a couple of not-even-fast dances, but I put that down to not having danced much recently and just being a bit run down. Hope I can cope this weekend!
Oh, one other problem – while messing about trying out some new things I twice bashed my glasses. I’m so looking forward to getting back to contact lenses!
Salsa tomorrow, then Aberdeen over the weekend. Want to know how I get on? You know where to be…
